We're a kid-friendly channel focused on literacy, integration, and reading. Our videos will consist of a single book or, occasionally, single chapters from short early reader chapter books. Books will be read aloud in conjunction with video of each page as it is read. Book information such as title, author, illustrator, etc. will be provided in the video description as well as here, on our companion blog. Shoestring Storytime is for readers of all ages - from infants who enjoy being read to, toddlers who are learning to talk and small sight words, early elementary readers who need a little sound support while learning to read, to older children who can read but enjoy following along or just listening to books for fun. Essentially, this channel and associated videos are for anyone of any age who has a love of books. The Shoestring Storytime channel is also purposely designed to be not only educational but fun for individuals with and without physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Recordings are designed to include bright and colorful imagery to engage viewers of all ages and ability levels. Shoestring Storytime will be updated on a weekly basis (barring any unforeseen issues) with a video recording of a new book. We look forward to reading with you all and can't wait to watch the Shoestring Squad grow, learn, and discover together!
