Special Note:  This book reading is dedicated to a few special people who have big birthdays in the next few weeks and are the epitome of the title of this book - you know who you are. It has been a long time since we've posted and for that, we apologize. There were a few technical difficulties with the program used to record and then a multitude of personal issues that precluded production for a while. We are hopefully back now and have several books on our upcoming "To Read List". If you are new to Shoestring Storytime please visit our blog, Facebook page, Twitter page, and YouTube channel to see what we're all about and what we have read before. We are committed to bringing quality content that embraces inclusivity, diversity, and compassion - and occasionally a silly story that serves the purpose of bringing a little bit of joy in an otherwise difficult and confusing time for readers of all ages, particularly children. So please hang in and hang on with us as we begin what we're officially calling Season 2 of Shoestring Storytime.

🦆Special Edition🦆 Marg and Doowaddle by R. D. Kuhn

Book Title: Marg and Doowaddle
Author: R. D. Kuhn
Illustrator: Elsa Carbone
Read By: MJ Purk
Copyright: December 2008

Special Note: This book has never been published and cannot be purchased at this time. Written for me, MJ Purk, by my maternal Grandfather as a way to help me prepare for the birth of my little sister, Emma, it has until now been a story shared within my family. In 2008 my grandparents had a family friend illustrate the story for me as a Christmas gift. My grandparents are both unable to travel now as am I so we have not physically been together in nearly a decade. Last month we were able to share a much-needed video call. After we hung up I found myself wanting more particularly for my Grandfather who enjoys listening to books. I love you so much, Grandfather! This story means so much to me and I hope that it will brighten the day of every person who hears and sees it.

Special Note: This reading is dedicated to Daijla on her 2nd birthday. She is one of those people, even at the age of two, who brings the unadulterated joy to all who know her. Her smile can brighten a room like a rainbow and her eyes are full of sparkle (and mischief). Happy Birthday, Daijla! We love you! 🌈

Special Note: This reading is dedicated to one of the most imaginative princesses I know; Aura Faith. Like many children across the world, Aura is scared and confused, about so much of what is happening. I'm hoping that this story will remind her and any other Shoestring Storytime squad members that there is one incredible tool that each and every one of us has that can help us deal with fear. In case you can't think of it, it's imagination. Like Amy, the main character in “Pirate Princess”, each of us is capable of becoming anyone or anything anywhere at any time simply by believing that we can. Amy's dream is to be a pirate princess - what would you be and where would you go? Shoestring Storytime has created this page that can be downloaded and either printed or imported to a digital drawing program so that you can draw the answer to the question. Not an artist? Have no fear - we have also created a page where you can write down or type out the answer to the question. Don't hold back and be sure to use the most powerful tool in the world: I-M-A-G-I-N-A-T-I-O-N
Email your completed drawing or writing to shoestring.squad38@gmail.com or message it Shoestring Storytime at m.me/ShoestringStorytime to be entered into a raffle to have your creation featured on Facebook, Twitter and here on the blog AND have a reading dedicated to you in an upcoming Shoestring Storytime video.

All submissions must be submitted no later than 11:59pm EST on Wednesday, April 8th, 2020
